August 2025 update
Greetings from Chengdu in China where I will make a new project with donated and collected obsolete technology and e-waste with the support of A4 Art Museum. I have only been here for a few days and it turns out I have a massive city to explore, as well as heading to Beijing next week to participate in the You And Me Festival alongside many amazing friends and artists. However, to round up the activities from the first half of the year...
Through May and June I was in Japan developing "Made to Malfunction in Chiba" for Chiba City Art Triennale, collecting various pieces of obsolete and unwanted technology from the local community to make a kinetic sound installation in a disused space in the city.
Here's a video of the work that is set and ready to be presented in September when the triennale opens:
After a quiet start to the year I was in Georgia and Armenia in April touring with Dolphin Hospital. And I also managed to focus on making a piece for radio, a new Channelling work commissioned by Katharina Schmidt for Deutschlandfunk Kultur and Cashmere Radio. Check out the project page for "Channelling Airwaves".
Highlights from last year, in reverse order:
December - Developed "Chiaroscuro" installation for Kimonos Art Center, Paphos, Cyprus.
October - WIP Cyens Festival, Nicosia, Cyprus presenting "Made to Malfunction" and performing "Channelling Reduction" for the opening event.
September - A week of workshops at Gymazium Jana Keplera, Prague, Czechia with ACCESS and Unijazz.
July-August - Developed "Orchestrated Obsolescence", a public artwork comprised of electronic waste, with Narva Art Residency, Estonia.
January - "Successive Actions" was presented at the WeSA festival in Seoul, South Korea.
